Palm Island Pharmacy is seeking a casual pharmacist either

 - for a few days during the week Mon 11th to Fri 15th Feb or

- for a few days during the week Mon 18th to Fri 22nd Feb or

- for a few days during the week Mon 25th Feb to Fri 1st Mar or

- for a few days during the week Mon 4th to Fri 8th Mar

The pharmacy will cover the cost of flights/ferry as well as accommodation while working on Palm Island.

Ideally a pharmacist from the Townsville region would be suitable because if the pharmacist enjoys their time on Palm Island we would be interested in doing this on a semi regular basis.

Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful pharmacist.

Palm Island Pharmacy is open every day from 8am to 7pm.

This is a single pharmacist pharmacy where you will be undertaking all task from serving customers, dispensing and blister packing.  There is a full time pharmacy assistant who works Monday to Friday.  The pharmacy is quite small but is popular with the local community.

You need to have an interest in Indigenous health issues as more than 95% of the community is Indigenous.

Cultural sensitivity is a key requirement of this position.  Patient counseling needs to be undertaken in a culturally appropriate manner.
